Its Durian Season

June is the season where you will find an abundance of durian everywhere. The pungent aroma fills the air there is no escaping.

Recently my hubby found a contact who brings in fresh durians from a plantation in Malaysia into Singapore. He does delivery with a minimum order of 15kg. We decided to order a variety to try out.

Small Seed Durian

Small Seed Durians has a light aroma, fleshy, pale yellow flesh, creamy with a bitter sweet taste and of course as the name depicts it has a small seed.

Golden Swallow Durian

Golden Swallow Durians are very aromatic, interestingly comes always in a dual seed configuration, very bitter with a tinge of sweetness, when you bite onto it the creaminess oozes out and melts into your mouth. Its flesh is dark yellow and very fleshy too.

Mao Shan Wang Durian

Mao Shan Wang Durians are very aromatic too, rich in flavour, bittersweet, fleshy and creamy. Its flesh is a bright yellow. This is by far the best of THE best amongst the rest. Once you have a taste of Mao Shan Wang you won’t want any other type of durians…mmmmm

Mao Shan Wang ~ creamy & rich texture
