MarcasiteSilver: Rent a Jewel

Hello Lovelies, happy Sunday!

Accessories are like vitamins to fashion as such you should use them liberally. As the saying goes the perfect accessory can make the difference between looking blah and totally to die for!

To encourage more ladies to experiment with accessorizing Joyce came up with the idea of MarcasiteSilver – Rent a Jewel a place where you will find the perfect accessory to match your everyday wardrobe without burning a hole your pocket, takes up no space and lets you try different styles with no obligations.

Rent a Jewel

In my opinion, accessorizing is the most fun part of an outfit. And what better way than to have the opportunity to try out different jewelry with  MarcasiteSilver – Rent a Jewel you won’t lament about having to repeat your jewelry ever again. I personally feel this is a great way to experiment with the wide array of jewelry offered by MarcasiteSilver. Different jewelry exudes a different aura of style, we are all unique in our own ways and should find our very own signature style.

Jazz up your work outfit with a pair of Danty Florinda or Bloom Bracelet Citrine I believe when you look good you ultimately feel good and will have a beautiful start to the day!

How does it work? Simply place a refundable deposit of SGD50, choose any 2 to start. You will have option to change every 2 weeks at only $19/month. Do note you will need to commit 2 months with an upfront payment via paypal.

If you are both fashion and financially conscious, you will find that taking jewelry on rent can work to your advantage.

Ultimately, to buy or to rent – the choice is yours to make. Although the satisfaction of owning something is not a match to holding on to something for a brief while. But then, given the burgeon trend, it seems, fashion is beginning to pip ownership.

MarcasiteSilver Magic

Hey lovelies!

They say that when you own five or more pieces by a particular designer, then you’re officially a “collector” of that line. If that is indeed the definition, then I certainly qualify as a collector of MarcasiteSilver, the unique line created by Joyce Mak who single handedly designs and sources for the gems on her own.

One and only bi-colour natural agate Necklace
Rain Earrings and Raw Electroformed Blue Agate Necklace
Blue Turquoise Peacock Necklace
RoseGold Paradise Bird Bangle and ring
London Blue Topaz Necklace and ring
Victoria Ring in RoseGold
Danty Victoria in RoseGold
A unique Jaguar time piece

I got to know Joyce when she did a roadshow at Raffles Exchange and thats also where my interest in marcasite jewellery grew. Marcasite jewellery are classic, timeless and elegant way to accessorize, their style can derive as vivid as the Victorian, Deco and Art Nouveau era.

You sold me a bracelet & ring and thats how we began our friendship journey

What is marcasite jewellery? Marcasite jewllery isn’t really made from marcasite (white iron pyrite) but from iron pyrite, which is less brittle, more durable and has a bright sheen.

They can be mixed and matched in any way for maximum impact to make a fashion statement.

Joyce will still be at Raffles Exchange next week until Friday, do go down and check out the specially curated pieces. Alternatively you can go down to her shop at Mandarin Gallery Orchard #03-21.

Weekend Fun Styling with Natasha

Happy Sunday Lovelies!

We Chinese have an idiom –  a girl changes eighteen times between childhood and womanhood and that is so true.

With a bat of an eye my sweetie is now 13 years old. She learnt doing make-up on her own, just by watching Youtube. She even knows how to use double eye-lid tape. Isn’t she smart? When I was her age I don’t even know how to do makeup!

She has developed a good fashion sense (since the Mummy also has a good fashion sense) and her own individual style.

She’s able to pull off different styles without losing her individuality.

Thats all for today. Thank you for reading.

Monochromatic Monday – Fashion Diaries

Happy Monday Lovelies!

I love how black and white looks chic, elegant and spells class. Plus it never goes out of style!

The cut-in shoulder blouse has a great silhouette with a fitted bust and goes well with a pencil skirt giving you a feminine yet professional look!

I added black and white patterned shoes for even more of an effect.

Thank you for reading. Have a wonderful week ahead!

Celebration OOTD :: 18th Wedding Anniversary

Today is my 18th Wedding Anniversary, we went Marriott Cafe for a buffet lunch as a mini celebration.

18 years together is no mean fit we had our fair share of fights and arguments. We have been each other’s support as we weather through the storm. We made fond memories, shared good times together, we have a beautiful daughter and a place we call home. I have no regrets, because had I done it differently, I might not have them in my world, and that is not a world in which I would want to exist.

I love onesies! They make dressing up a breeze the only annoying problem is going to the bathroom but it’s definitely worth it – just give myself a few minutes headstart to do the jiggly dance and all is good 🙂

Chic Friday :: Simple Style for a Gorgeous Look

Hello Lovelies its Friyay! I’m definitely looking forward to the weekend to spend time with my girl.

Business-Casual “Casual-Fridays” can mean different things to different companies but no matter what the company save those jean shorts, tattered jeans, crop tops, flip-flops and sneakers only for the weekend.

To me “Casual-Fridays” means slightly more casual/relaxed than Professional Business wear but one must still look chic and stylish.

I teamed a solid coloured ankle pants with a bold red checkered top. I have a habit of colour  coordinate my shoes and accessories. For footwear, I wore a pair of red chaine patent flatties which matches my top.

OOTD :: Classic Black Dress

Classic Black Drress

If you’re going for that minimalist kind of look, where you want to look feminine and classic, yet not too overdressed and flashy, then this is a nice approach which I have put together. I wanted to keep it clean and simple, so I chose this cute little black dress from Nanz that I fell in love with when I saw it and paired it with a pair of yellow and black stripe heels to give the outfit some contrast.

Yellow & Black Stripes Heels

Going further along with the contrasting theme, I paired a red clutch to balance out the black and brighten up the outfit a little more. For jewellery, I kept it simple and minimal. And there you have it!

This is how I would style my little black dress bringing me from work to a night out.

OOTD :: Monochrome Monday

Saying goodbye to the weekend and embracing the beginning of the work week is already hard enough, but thinking of an outfit that is both cute and comfortable to stand the heat only adds more stress. When I’m getting dressed in the morning and am at a complete loss as to what to wear on, 9 times out of 10 I will head to something black or black and white because they are easy to throw together but still look polished and chic even if you’ve put zero effort in!

Today’s look is a skater dress – skater dresses always have a special place in my heart – they look cute whilst hiding a multitude of bits and bobs that I am conscious of!

We finished the look with a pair of pump wedges to amp up the luxe factor!
